Plan to resume oil production in Ogoni is a plan to kill the Ogoni people

Image
(By Fegalo Nsuke) The Nigerian state pretends not to know the truth about  the pains of the Ogoni people and the discrimination against the minorities of the Niger Delta whose resources have funded our federal budgets and supports our predominantly poor states which cannot survive without federal subventions.

Image
*Suspected Badoo members being paraded at the Lagos State Police Command (Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu   For weeks, Lagos State has been in one of the worst  cult crisis ever imagined for a metropolitan city. Image
*Ogoni clean-up (Nigeria) Fegalo Nsuke     If you have ever been conversant with the story of Nigeria's Ogoni people, Rivers State, then you will agree with me that when soldiers are deployed to Ogoniland, you can reasonably conclude that some innocent blood are about to be spilled.

News Rivers @2: Improved healthcare delivery

Image
(Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu For eight years, the immediate past All Progressives Congress, APC administration in Rivers State neglected the health sector. Rivers people in rural areas were denied access to quality healthcare. The people had no access to quality secondary healthcare  because  all the General Hospitals in the state   were left to rot.

On the Obaseki 192 aides

Image
*Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State (Nigeria) By Abiola Gbemisola  It is easy to quickly dismiss the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, as one who doesn’t get his priorities right when you consider the news that he has appointed 192 Special Assistants from all the 192 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state to “serve as representatives of the government at the grassroots.”

The Igbos are under siege in their country

Image
*Mike Ozekhome (Nigeria) By Mike Ozekhome I am shocked that the Igbos are not speaking up at the apparent siege laid on their land by uniformed person of different categories. They range from Army, Navy, Police, Civil Defence, Customs, FRSC, etc. My journey had taken me by road from Isele-Mkpitime, where I had gone to pay tribute to a Nigerian icon, Chief (Dr) P.K.C. Isagba, the Odogwu of Isele-Mkpitime.

Rule of law: Garba Shehu goofs on Sambo Dasuki

Image
*Mallam Garba Shehu (Nigeria) By Yushau Shuaib The most painful and mind boggling dilemma in issuing rebuttals is the attempt to challenge respected professional colleagues who should know the truth from fallacy. Wrong actions of current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari have compelled some of us to take the pain and risk of disproving false allegations and reckless insinuations on innocent people by those in the corridors of power.

An APC Police force: Very sad for democracy

Image
*Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris  (Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu Since the very day Mr Ibrahim Idris was appointed as Inspector-General of Police for his role during the 2015 general election   whilst he served as Commissioner of Police   in Kano State, he has metamorphosed   into a nightmare   to the nation’s democracy.

Rivers state seized 2 helicopters: Custom-Made Lies

Image
(Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu  We are all aware of the  penchant of APC  leaders to churn out lies. We know that they lack the capacity  to tell the truth. It is common knowledge  that they script their lies for the  mere reason that they  derive sadistic  pleasure  from deceiving  the Nigerians in view of their inability to perform.  If not, why would the Nigerian Custom Service and the Nigerian Air Force gather journalists  for the  sole purpose  of churning out lies that belittle  the entire country. Since May 2015, lying  has become the nation’s  official  policy.  It is sad that the APC Government  has dragged the entire  security structure  into its web of lies. This latest in the series of falsehood  and fiction, would make Nollywood Producers cringe with envy. For no explicable reason, the Nigerian Custom Service and the Nigerian Air Force chose to tow the path of dishonour, just to act out a script handed over to them  by the lying APC.  Several newspapers  on Friday, Janu

Governor Wike and the unity of Nigeria

Image
*Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State  (Nigeria) By Zayyad Jimeta The ideal way to identify true nationalists and good politicians is through their utterances and actions both in public and in private. A true lover of Nigeria will always stand for the unity and oneness of Nigeria whenever he talks or acts.   Good politicians will ‘spit’ fire and intimidate their opponents but will never compromise the unity of a nation.

Image
*IG Idris Ibrahim (Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu The show of shame of All Progressives Congress, APC, knows no bound. They have belittled Nigerians to the lowest   depths never   imagined. Every passing day, the APC   introduces yet another despicable   crime against   the people.

Amaechi's lies, thievery and needless excuses

Image
(Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu Transportation Minister, Mr Chibuike Amaechi is an unhappy man. He has every cogent reason to be unhappy.  Before his very eyes, the good people of Rivers State  passed their judgment in 2015 and March 19, 2016. They would  have nothing  to  do with a political  Judas Iscariot. Overwhelmingly , the Rivers people  voted the Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP and Nyesom Wike , because they needed a new direction, devoid of unnecessary propaganda  and waste of scarce resources. They resolved  to effect their political divorce with a known affiliate of Boko Haram terrorists and  bandits . Amaechi's high blood pressure  is worsened by the fact that he swore on National Television  that over his dead body  would Nyesom Wike  become Governor .  Since the Supreme Court confirmed Governor Wike on January 27, 2016, Amaechi's  only solace has been the unbridled  vomit of lies and weightless allegations. A friend from the media called to tell me that Amaechi

Rivers issues: The extreme partisanship of the IG

Image
(Nigeria) By Simeon Nwakaudu As a political observer, I am amused by the extreme partisanship of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris. Though he is still wearing his uniform, all his actions are tailored towards the promotion of the 'Chanji Dole' politics. Since his appointment, he has dragged the police several steps backwards because of his commitment to the political ideals of those who appointed him. He has forgotten the responbilities that go with the office of the Inspector General of Police. Mr Idris has failed to realise that his office is different from that of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose interest is to win at all costs, irrespective of the voting pattern of the electorate. It is necessary at this point to highlight the statement credited to the APC National Chairman, Mr Odigie-Oyegun after defeated Rivers APC Governorship Candidate wept to him after losing at the Supreme Court. Hear Odigie-Oyegun : “We have lo
